Are Hipster India Tours safe for a solo female traveller?
+
I take great pride in sharing that the vast majority of my guests have been solo female travellers.

I am culturally aware of the sensitivities involved in travel, and Chandigarh is by far one of the safest developed cities in India. Running tours for 5 years, I have crossed hundreds of happy guests. Your safety and comfort are my priority.
Ideal days of the week to visit Chandigarh?
+
Although you are welcome 365 days a year, I highly recommend planning Tuesday–Friday. Mondays mean museums are closed, and weekends have some restrictions, except for national holidays.

Please email me to help you plan better.
Best season to travel in Chandigarh?
+
Chandigarh is gorgeous all seasons long.

However, you might want to avoid the summer between May to July, when the sun can get quite hot. Still, we power through by planning the day to avoid direct sun exposure, using specially made UV protective umbrellas, ice cold water and yummy local ice cream to keep us powered through.

This is the peak season for Shimla though!
Are Chandigarh tours safe and entertaining for families with children?
+
Absolutely! I am quite an animated, dramatic person skilled to explain even the most nuanced concepts of architecture, heritage, history and culture to anyone, including children.

I also have a Master's degree in communications with over a decade in journalism – storytelling is an art I take pride in stating I have mastered.
Hotel / Airbnb best in Chandigarh?
+
I have a whole list of cheap but tried and tested hotels, or luxurious Airbnb's, alternative farm forest view resort recommendations in Chandigarh.

The best hotels / dormitory / hostel or Airbnb can vary depending upon your budget, group size and desire of comfort. I'd be happy to arrange the best price and offer suggestions for ya. Please reach out at Rusty@HipsterIndiaTours.com
Best local food recommendations?
+
Usually, our Chandigarh tour includes one stopover for Lunch at a local mom-and-pop-run 44-year-old place serving authentic local foods.

We also usually stop by for a cup of the finest authentic espresso the city has to offer. Meals and beverages are charged separately as per actuals.
We are a college of architecture students from University wishing to visit inside Corbusier's buildings. Can you help?
+
Yes, of course! The Hipster India Tours take pride in getting you insider access to Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret's greatest buildings. Contact me at Rusty@HipsterIndiatours.com and we'd plan your tour out.

Best season to travel in Shimla?
+
Shimla is gorgeous all seasons long.

However, you might want to avoid the maximum depth of winter as fog slows down movement and photographs, so between December to January we stop our tours.

This is the peak season for Chandigarh though!

Is Shimla good for senior citizens with limited mobility?
+
Unfortunately no. There is a considerable amount of uphill walking involved in Shimla, where mobility scooters or taxis cannot work. Shimla is not recommended for those with mobility issues or senior citizens with difficulty walking.

But Chandigarh requires minimal walking and has options for mobility scooters.
