Privacy Policy

Hipster India Tours is run personally by Rustam Singh ("Rusty", "we", "us"). This page explains what information we collect when you use this site or book a tour, and what we do with it. We keep this simple: we only collect what's needed to run your tour and reply to you, and we never sell your information.

1. What we collect

When you fill in the booking form on our Book Now page, we collect: your name, email address, the tour and date you're interested in, number of guests, country of issued passport, and any message you add. If you use the "Custom Amount" option, we also see the amount and currency you entered. If you contact us by email or WhatsApp instead, we see whatever you send us there.

2. Payment information

Payment is processed entirely by Razorpay, a licensed Indian payment gateway. When you pay, you're taken to Razorpay's own secure page – we never see, receive or store your card number, UPI ID, or bank details. Razorpay's handling of that information is governed by Razorpay's own privacy policy, not this one.

3. Currency & location detection

To show tour prices in your local currency, this site tries to detect roughly which country you're browsing from, in this order:

A currency you've manually selected yourself (stored only in your own browser)
Netlify's built-in server-side location data, which involves no third party and no extra request
As a fallback only, a lookup against ipapi.co, a third-party IP geolocation service – this sends your IP address to that service solely to resolve a country, and nothing else about you is shared with it
As a last resort, your browser's language setting

The currency this resolves to is cached in your browser's local storage for about 12 hours so we don't have to repeat the lookup on every page.

4. How we use your information

To confirm availability and manage your booking
To communicate with you about your tour by email or WhatsApp
To respond to enquiries sent through the contact form

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

5. How long we keep it

We keep booking and correspondence records for as long as reasonably needed to manage your tour and for our own basic record-keeping afterwards. If you'd like your information deleted sooner, just ask – see the contact details below.

6. Your choices

You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email Rusty@HipsterIndiaTours.com and we'll action this personally – there's no automated system standing between you and your request.

7. Children

Our tours are family-friendly, but this site and its booking form are intended for use by adults booking on behalf of their group. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
